Abstract of Will from Goodnestone next Wingham, Kent from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of Henry CHRYSTYAN of Goodnestone next Wingham 9 April 1548

Henry CHRYSTYAN, 9 April 1548.
Buried in churchyard beside my father.
Wife Joan have a cow, six ewes, and for three years after next Feast of St Michael 6s.8d. yearly, out of the term of the house, and lands John PRYOR hath in occupation.
Son John six ewes, a calf of this year, three quarters of malt, great brass pot, half the irons of the plough and the cart, the other half of the irons to his brother Thomas.
Daughters Elene, Joan, Alice, Richardine, to each two ewes when 18 or marriage.
Residue to wife Joan, and have Porton garden with the tenement and close, which payeth rent to Mr TUKE.
One and half acres at Crokershard for three years , then to son John, wife to occupy during her life. If son John die without lawful issue, then to my son Raynold and his lawful issue. If none to my son Thomas.
Executors – Wife Joan and John JOHNSON, with Nicholas CRANEBROOKE overseer.
Witnesses – William TAYLOR, Gregory ABRAHAM, William APLETON, Anthony ROGER, clerk, Nicholas CRAMBROOKE.
Probate 16 June 1548.
