Will of Thomas BOYS of Goodnestone next Wingham 17 August 1508

Thomas BOYS*, 17 August 1508.
Buried in the Church before Altar of St Margaret.
High altar 6s.8d; and to the church two kine – one for the behoof of the church, the other for a perpetual obit to be done for me yearly.
To Bonington Light a seame of barley.
My three daughters - Agnes, Mary and Anne, £6.13.4d. each at their marriage.
A priest sing for two years for my soul, and have 20 marcs (£13s.6s.8d).
A marble stone for me and my wife be laid upon my grave within my twelve month day.
To the Church of Godenyston to such work as is most needful 20s.
Wife Thomasine have a chamber which it shall please her to have in my mansion house place at Godenyston whilst a widow.
My three sons – William, Robert and Richard, half my household stuff equally between them.
Residue of goods to wife Thomasine my Executor, with John BOYS (his brother) and William CORALL, overseers.
Witnesses – John GODEFELOWE, John BOYS, William CORALL.
Wife Thomasine have all my lands, tenements, etc. in Godneston until son William is 22, then to him and his male heirs for ever, but if none to son Robert and his male issue; if none to son Richard and his male heirs; if none then to my brother John Boys, and his heirs for ever.
Also wife Thomasine all my lands, tenements in Adisham, until son Robert is 22, then to him and his heirs male, but if none to his brother Richard and heirs male; if none to his brother William and his male issue, but if none then to Agnes my daughter and her issue, or to Mary and her issue, or to Ann.
Also wife have all lands and tenements with the brewhouse and implements thereto in the town of Fordwich, during her life, also my house in Sandwich until son Richard is 22, then to him and the Fordwich property.
Lands at Wentherton (sic) be sold and money to pay debts, etc.
No Probate (Vol.1509-11).

*Second son of William of 1507, the son of Thomas who died 1480.
