Will of John APINTON of Goodnestone next Wingham 20 April 1535

John APINTON, 20 April 1535.
Buried in the churchyard.
High altar 12d.
Wife Isabell* distribute my moveable goods with William TAYLOR as follows:
to son William five quarters of barley at Candlemas 1536, and ten ewes.
To son John two quarters of barley and six ewes.
To son Raynold one quarter of barley and two ewes.
Anne and Agnes my daughters at their marriage, four ewes each.
Residue after paying debts, etc. to wife Isabel to dispose for my soul.
Executor – wife Isabel, with William TAYLOR overseer.
John GODFREY of Goodnestone have the loppys of my Asshyn trees at Trapham in Goodnestone.
Feoffees – William STOPELL, Michael LAWRENCE, Vincent BOYS and John TRAPPHAM.
Son William my lands and tenement at Uffinton until my sons John and Raynold be 21, then to be equally divided among my three sons. If sons die without issue, then to be sold and money in charitable works for our souls; 20s. to reparation of the church; and residue to my daughters Anne and Agnes.
Witnesses - William STOPELL, Thomas SUTTON, Michael LAWRENCE, Thomas GIBBES, John GODFREY.

*Isabel = Thomas ROOS and she died May 1545.
