John SOLER of Ebbene, 18 July 1491.
Buried in the churchyard of St Mary of Ebbene.
High altar 20d. Light of St Stephen 3s.4d. Light of Our Lady for five years next after my death, every year 4d.
To three altars in the church, viz: of St Stephen, St Katherine and St Margaret, to each one altar cloth.
Wife Alice have two kine of the best, an old noble of 6s.8d.
Alice my daughter to her marriage 13s.4d. a cow, two pairs of sheets, a coverlet, four platars, four dishes, two saucers, a brass pot of two gallons the best, a new pan, a steeled pan shipcofer, and silver spoon.
To Agnes SMYTH a cow.
That three Masses be said for my soul on day of my burial, i.e. the Mass of Jeses, Our Lady, of Requiem, and for same 13s.4d.
Son John the elder have a horse and all my craft and all pertaining to the crafte, and a silver spoon.
To John my younger son, a silver spoon.
Thomesine, daughter of William SELAR have to her marriage 3s.4d.
Residue of my household to wife Alice for her life, but she may dispose all that was hers at the time of our marriage, but residue that was mine before our marriage to my children.
