SILVESTER of Ebbeney, 28 June 1524.
Buried in the churchyard of Our Blessed Lady Mary Virgin in Ebbeney.
High altar for tithes12d. To every other altar in the church 6d. To
every Light in the church 6d.
To buy a new basin to set in the Paschal 10d. To the behoof of the
church of Wittersham 3s.4d; of the church of Stone 3s.4d.
There be distributed for the welthe of my soul, etc. at my outbearing
20s; at my Trental 20s; year’s mind 20s.
To Joane my wife £6.13s.4d. and eleven rydder bullocks such as I had
with her and all my household stuff I had with her at our marriage, half
the corn I have now within my house , my little gray mare and my loggs.
My three children John, Joane and Elizabeth £6 each. John at age of 22
years, Joane and Elisabeth at marriage or age of 18 years. If any of
them die before the age aforesaid or not married, each the other’s
heir and if all die then the £18 to the use of the church of Ebbeney.
To my father 13s.4d. at his need, within two years.
To each of my sisters, Joane SILVESTER, Elisabeth, Julyane and Margarete
6s.8d.
John my son have my strippe coffer; Joan my daughter my best chest and
best ketyll; Elisabeth my daughter a nother chest. To every of my wife’s
children 3s.4d.
My brother Thomas SILVESTER 20s. To Alice the daughter of Thomas 6s.8d.
If Joane my wife be with child now, to the finding of the said child £8
and if not with child, the £8 unto John, Joane and Elizabeth my
children.
Residue of goods to the use and finding of my children.
Thomas SILVESTER my brother Executor, he for his labor for every day in
this my business 6d.
