RAYNOLD of Redyng, 18 December 1523.
Buried in the new Chapel lately builded by the costs of my said husband,
next unto the sepulture of the said my said late husband.
High altar of Ebbeney 3s.4d. Light of Our Lady, the Rodelight there, St
Katherine, St Stephen, St Thomas 3s.4d. each. On day of my burial 20s;
month’s mind 40s.
To my cosin Mildrede HONYWODD two pillows, ketill, brass pot and pan.

My maiden Thomesine DENY to her marriage 40s, but if she died the 40s.
in deeds of charity by my Executors.
Juliane, wife of Walter BROWNE a cow, feather bed and two blankets.

My cosen Christopher HALES silver salt, my best dozen of silver spoons,
best silver cup called a pece, best featherbed, four pairs of best
sheets, etc, best chest, best cupboard that standeth in my little
parlour, best white hanging with curtains in the chest in the middle
chamber.
My cosen Alice, wife of Christopher OVYNGTON my best gown and girdle
which was my daughter’s when she was maid, my amber beads, and 40s.
My cosen Mildred, wife of John COURTOPP my second best gown, corall
beads, and 40s.
My cosen the wife of John HALES three gold rings.
My cosen John HONYWOOD’S wife my second brass pot, great brass pan,
one gold ring, a knoppe of silver and gilt with a little chain there
upon of silver, a pair of pardon beads, and pair of amber beads.
To the eldest daughter of John PRESTON my best worsted kirtell.
The wife of Walter BROWNE have my crimson kirtell, murrey kirtell, my
daughter’s best gown, my third brass pot, a girdle and 20s.
Wife of Thomas CHARLES 20s. and my best hoks.
Julyane DONNEY a pair of sheets.
John BROWN my godson the chest standing behind the shopped ore and
6s.8d.
My god daughter Sibelle ASHERENDEN my gored cow and her calf.
To the wife of John ASSHERENDEN for her attendance unto me at the time
of my sickness 40s.

That Sir Thomas ASSHERENDEN shall find before the Image of Our Blessed
Lady of Ebbeney, a taper yearly during his life of the value that it is
now at the time of my death, also dispose and give for the health of my
soul and all Christian souls, every Friday 2d. during one year after my
death.
To my servant John DALE 6s.8d. and to his wife 3s.4d; to my godson
Christopher ASSHERENDEN 6s.8d.
There be bestowed upon amendment of the Coen street between Redyng and
Hamons Cross by my Executors 20s marcs (£13s.6d.8d.).
To the amendment of the comen causey and foteway between Redyng and
Ebbeney church on either side of the chanel 40s. where need is.
Residue of household stuff, cups, plate, spoons, featherbeds, bolsters,
blankets, etc. brass, pewter, handing tables, trestles, stools, chairs,
bedsteads, other stuff in my house to Thomas ASSHERYNDEN to his own use.
Also to the same Thomas my messuage wherein I dwell with garden, houses
and boyldyng there unto and to his heirs, etc. for ever and for the same
Thomas shall find an honest priest to celebrate divine service in
Ebbeney Church, at all times convenient for two years after my death, or
such times as bad weather or other occasion reasonable, the same priest
to sing in the Chapel of Redyng.
Also Thomas ASSHERENDEN to pay the 20 marcs to amend the way between
Redyng and Hamon’s Cross.
Executors – Cosen Christopher HALES and Thomas ASSHERENDEN, and they
to see my daughter’s Will fulfilled.
