Abstract of Will from Ebony, Kent from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of Pernell LOWDEN of Ebony, Kent 3 April 1521

Pernell LOWDEN, 3 April 1521.
Buried in the churchyard of Eboney.
Five priests for five masses at my burying, with placebo and dirige in church of Eboney 2s.10d. and same at trental and anniversary. Light of Our Lady 4d. Light of St Peter 4d.
Joan GIBBES my daughter in law, my best gown, etc. and to Harry CHAPMAN her son 40s, a pair of querne stones, two pewter dishes, silver salt, etc.
To John, son of Alexander CHAPMAN 26s.8d., pewter platter, dish, saucer, candlestick, pair of canvas sheets, and blanket.
Executor – John ASSHYNDEN.
Witnesses – Sir Richard RAYE, priest, Adrian BROWNE.
