Will of William DONNY of Ebony, Kent 11 April 1512

William DONNY of Redyng in Ebbeney, 11 April 1512.
Buried in the churchyard.
High altar 20d; to each Light in the Church, viz. Blessed Virgin Mary, Holy Cross, St Peter, St Stephen 8d. St Thomas the Martyr and St Katherine 6d. each.
To each of the four men carrying my body from my house, or from the place when I die, to my burial 4d. My Executors spend on day of my burial 13s.4d. and day of Trental 13s.4d.
Dionise my wife have my best plumali (bed) with all its best apparatus belonging to the bed, in addition to my best bed, also my best girdle harnessed with silver, which she gave me at marriage, and a gold ring.
Juliane my daughter one cloke and red tunic which belonged to Alice, mother of Juliane, two towels, one of diaper and other pictata, a cuppebord, girdle harnessed with silver, and one tache of silver.
Henry DONNY my father have my best cloke, one naviculm (small boat) called a bote and all nets and things thereto of my craft (arte) for which he shall pay to William CURTES for rent of the lands called le benelands, and those lands where I have been wont to fish, at the Feast of St Michael 10s, and to Richard LAWRENCE 5s.
Wife Denis have custody of a haffer until Feast of St Michael, then to be delivered to John HULS to keep for the use of William HULS his son.
Residue of goods and chattels after paying debts, etc. to be divided into two parts, one to my wife, other to my sons equally.
Executors – Wife Denis and Henry DONNY my father.
Feoffees of lands and tenements – Thomas TAYLOUR, Roger TILLE, William HAMON, Antony SHALWORD.
Wife Denyis have issues and profits from my two messuages and gardens in Redyng until next Feast of St Michael, keeping my children, afterwards as long as it pleaseth my father, and if he take the children out of her keeping then my father or such as he shall assign to have issues and profits from messuages and gardens, until my youngest son is 20 years, then to my sons William and George and their heirs.
Two mares and one stere to be sold and money to repair messuages.
