John LEY of St Mary in Marsh of Romney, 10 January 1473-4.
Buried in ecclesiastic sapulture.
High altar for tithes 12d. Parish clerk 4d. Light of the Great Cross 6d, Light of St Mary 6d, Light of St Katherine 6d. To fabrice of the church 6s.8d.
That John LEY my cognatus (kinsman) have half part of all my domicilii except one cooking pot, which shall be sold, also he to have three togas, six silver ?spoons and red girdle.
That Dom Thomas MALTEBE have rule and governance of the aforesaid John LEY my cognatus, and the custody of all his goods.
Wife (not named) have tenement in which I dwell for her life, doing repairs, then to John LEY my cognatus and his heirs for ever.
After my death that seven other acres of my land be sold and with money to pay debts, etc. and 40s. to my wife ... and to each Executor 3s.4d.
Residue to Executors – Dom Thomas MALTEBE, vicar of Old Romney and Richard CHAMBER to dispose for my soul.
Witnesses – John GREN, cleric, Richard RANDISLOWE.
