Abstract of St Lawrence Thanet Wills from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of John COPYN of St Lawrence Thanet 20 Jan 1475-6

John COPYN of St Lawrence in Thanet, 20 January 1475-6.
Buried in churchyard.
To the Lights in the church of which I am a brother one bushel of barley.
Residue after paying debts etc. to William ROKE and Thomas COPYN my Executors to dispose for my soul.
Son Richard have one garden before portam (gate) of my messuage and three acres of land and to him and his heirs for ever.
Son Thomas have messuage in which I live and three virgates of land on east part of said messuage and to his heirs.
Son Laurence have one acre of land at Merkston and another acre at Southnasse, and to his heirs for ever.
Daughter Joan have half an acre and half a virgate of land at Modynhill, and one virgate and half of land situated subtus le hegge of John COPYN and to her heirs.
Daughter Alice one acre of land at Herston in the place called Gate, and to her heirs.
