Abstract of St Lawrence Thanet Wills from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of Thomas BAKER of St Lawrence Thanet 14 August 1488

Thomas BAKER OF St Lawrence in Thanet, 14 November 1485.
Buried in the churchyard.
To the high altar 20d. To the operibus of the church 3s.4d. To the Lights of the Church of which I am a brother 4d.
Wife Joan have all utensilia of my house viz. aule, camere and kitchen, one cow, mare, cart, plough.
Executor - . John BENETT and Vincent COKELYN.
Feoffees – William PERSE, Thomas PEROTTE, Walter REDDE.
Three rods of land to be sold, one at Norkynnes Cross, and one rod lieth between Chilton and Eastchevisende, for debts, etc.
Alice GOOLRDE have half an acre and half a rod of land at Norkynngs Cross.
A priest sing in the church for a quarter of a year for my soul.
Wife Joan have all the profits of my lands, etc. for her life, then to Robert my son.
