Abstracts of Littlebourne Wills from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of Elisabeth SELLS of Littlebourne 22 September 1552

Elisabeth SELLS of Litleborne, widow, 25 April 1551.
Buried in churchyard beside my husband John SELLS [1547]. To the poor of the parish 6s.8d.
   Rose HAWLETT my daughter eight pewter platters, four broad brimmed and four small brimmed, four pewter dishes, four saucers, three porringers, four candlesticks, chaffer, chaffing dish, fryenge pan, etc. the chest at my bed-head. The 40 sheep and two kine of my daughter Rose, now in the hands of Thomas ROOD of Reculver, to be put forth for the profit of my daughter.
   Richard HAWLETT my son the featherbed in my chamber coming in at the hall door, with all thereto, etc.
Katherine COLLARD my greatest chest. Thomas son of William HAWLETT a cow. My sister [not named] wife of Robert SCRANTE my best gown, hat. Etc.
Residue between William HAWLETT, Ambrose HAWLETT and Joan COBB my daughter.
Ex’or – Robert DORANT.
   All my tenements and lands to be sold, and except 23s.4d. the money among all my children and to John NOTINGHAM, Nicholas WILLIAMSON 6s.8d.
