Abstracts of Littlebourne Wills from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of John RAYNOLD of Littlebourne 1 June 1532

John RAYNOLD of Litelborne, 1 March 1531-2.
Buried beside Thomasine mhy child. High altar for tithe 12d. Light of the Cross 12d; of St Vincent 8d.; St Margaret 4d.
   To the dyeng (?buying) of Bonyngton’s vestment if it be made within 4 days after Ester next 20d.
High altar of Stodmarsh 8d.
   Thomas PRATT have a tawny sleeveless coat, best doublet and best hoses.
   Thomas WOOD my russet coat, second doublet and hoses, so that they serve their covenant out well and truly.
   Daughter Annye a great carved chest colored with red, two bell candlesticks, little chafing dish of laton, ewer, half pint pot of pewter, salt cellar, a cow, five ewes, a rollying towel of diaper, etc. etc.
   Daughter Alice a cow, bullock, five ewes and lambs, a little chest painted red, etc. etc.
   Each daughter heir to the other, but if both die without issue, then my wife Joan dispose of their things.
   Residue to wife Joan my Ex’or, with Thomas DORANT fermar of Litelborne Court overseers and have 6s.8d.
