Abstracts of Littlebourne Wills from Arthur Hussey’s Manuscripts

Will of William HOPPER of Littlebourne 26 January 1481-2

William HOPPER of Lytilborne, 21 November 1481.
Buried in the church yard near grave of my mother.
   High altar 20d. Light of St Vincent 8d. Light of St Mary 12d. Light of Holyt Cross 8d. Light of St Nicholas 6d. Light of the parish 6d. Light of St John Baptist 4d. Light of St Margaret 4d. To the reparation of the books (librorum) in the church 6s.8d.
   John BEKE my godson 6s.8d.
   Wife Margaret have the tenement in which I dwell during her life, according to the Indenture under the seal of the Monastery of St Augustine, paying the yearly rent and doing repairs; after her death the tenement be let for best price and ..... out of the money 4d. to the Vicar at Easter to pray the same day for my soul, and residue for a yearly Obit.
   Residue after paying debts etc. to wife Margaret and Thomas BALDWIN my Ex’ors, to dispose for my soul, and Geoffrey LEDIS, overseer.
