He married Francis Crosse 1665. There were 17 children and their sons Thomas and William became 4th and 5th Baronets respectively.

Traveller and accomplished scholar. Deputy Lieutenant of Kent, Knight of Shire in James II's Parliament 1684-5, and opposed to the proposals for standing army.
