The portrait was purchased by mistake for Judge Twisden, in 1860.

Second son of Sir William Twysden, 5th Bart., and Lady Jane.
Unmarried.
Colonel in 1st troop of Life Guards. Was one of the chief 

officers on duty when, after the rebellion of '45, he escorted Lord Lovat to the scaffold. He wrote many stories of the rebellion and of the coolness of Lovat. He died at Pavillion, Mereworth.
