RICHARD THOMAS of Sevenocke 10 August 1614. To be buried at discretion of my executors. To the poore of the parishe of Sevenocke 20s. to be distributed at my buriall. My executors to sell suche of my goods to pay debts and after my debts payde raise out of my saide personall estate by sale the some of 200 marks which I giue onto my daughter Marie Thomas which I request my executors by aduise of ouerseers to dispose of to the beste benefitt they cann and the whole proffett paide to my wife soe longe as my said daughter shall remaine vnder her mothers gouernment. If she marrie then bee paide vnto hir 100 marks and the profitt of the other 100 marks to remaine to my wife soe longe as she shall lyve sole. Vnto my brother in lawe Mr. Studley 40s. to make him a ringe withall to ware for my sake. Residue of my goods to be equallie parted between my louinge wife and my three sonnes my Will is my three sonnes parts be solde and putt in stocke for and towards their educacon and preferment equallie. 
I ordeine executors my louinge father in lawe Mr. John Jylbert and my louinge cosen Edmond Thomas the yonger and ouerseers my louinge brother in lawe Mr. George Cole and my cosen Trusterham Thomas. I doe desire my saide brother in lawe Master to enteraine into his service my sonn Christopher soe soone as he shalbe fitt for his service (as he hath promised me to doe) 
And touchinge the disposition of my lands and tenements I giue vnto my louinge Mother Ann Thomas one annuite of £3 duringe hir life out of all my lands and tenements in Cheveninge and Sevenock viz out of euerie three sonnes lands 20s. yerelie. To my louinge wife the one moity of all my lands during hir life vpon condicon she waue and leave of her ioynture made to hir before our entermariage of two tenements in Chepsted and take onelie the moitie thereof. Vnto Christopher my eldest sonne and his heires all my lands and tenements I purchased of Robert Wyborne (except the smythes forge and the two parcels of lande called East Ewes alias Twes and the Swyne holden of the mannor of Wilks). Vnto Jeffrye my second sonne the saide Smythes forge and the two parcells of lande before excepted and two tenements in Chepsted before mentioned to be conueyed in joynture to my wife which were my grandfathers Mr. Tolhurst. Vnto Richard my thirde sonne all those lands which discended or came to me after the death of John Thomas my father and all that crofte of lande I purchaced of John Baker lyinge at Bessylls in Cheveninge. Signed 11 August 1614 in presence of Ralphe Rande, Nathaniell Studley, William Richardson and Richd Weekes – Richard Thomas. 
Proved 13 October 1615 by John Jylbert and Edmund Thomas junior executors. Inventory = £352. 16. 0.
