Vnto the poore people of Pensherst 3s. 4d. to be distributed at my buriall. Vnto Nathaniell my sonne one cupbord with the cupbord clothe in the Hall of my dwellinghouse, a great brasse kettle, a ioyned stoole and foure peeces of pewter. Vnto Danyell my sonne one joyned chest and a boxe, one joyned stoole and foure peeces of pewter and a great iron pott and a table cloth sticth (sic) and fringed and a pillowe coate stecth and laced. Vnto Godfrey my sonne a cheste and a boxe, two little ioyned stooles, 4 peeces of pewter, and my little iron pott and a longe tablecloth. I give more vnto my saide three sonnes sixe ewe sheepe to bee putt forth by my executor and the profitts shall remaine in the hands of my executor and ouerseer vntill my saide children shall come to 21. I give more vnto my sone Danyell £10 when 21 and £10 at his age of 23 yeres, out of all my landes by Nathaniell my eldest sonne. To my sonne Godfrey £20 when 23 (in same way).
My will is my brother Godfrey Jessope of Leigh in Kente shall be guardian vnto my saide three sonnes Nathaniell, Danyell and Godfrey Jessope until 21 and receive rents etc. I will my said brother Godfrey Jessope shall sell all the reste of my moueable goods and shall bringe vpp my saide three children to schole and when they shalbee fitt and hable to put them forth apprentice. My executor shall keepe my barne and stable standing vppon my land in Pensherst repayred vntill my sonne Nathaniel shall come to 21 takinge such tymber as is growing vppon the saide lande. My executors shall lett my saide lands vnto the most aduantage.
I make my louinge brother Godfrey Jessope of Leigh executor and my louinge cosen William Walter of Tunbridge and my louinge neighbour and friend Nicholas Wood of Penshurst supervisors, Vnto my eldest sonne Nathaniel Jessoppe his heires etc. all my lands in Pensherst called by the name of Mapletons and the barne and staule standinge vppon it in the whole ten acres, my saide sonne Nathaniel paying vnto my sonne Danyell £10 at 23 and my sonne Godfrey £20 at 23 (power of entry to these in default). I haue sett to my hand and seale Andromicus Jessop in presence of Henrie Bellingham, John Hollombie alias Nicklis his marke.
