JOHN, "procurator" of the church of Bishop (there has been an erasure followed by the words "bono sana mente memoria condo testamentus" etc.) To be buried in the churchyard of the Blessed Mary the Virgin of Bishop aforesaid. To the high altar there two candles. To the lights (luminaria) of the blessed Mary the Virgin two candles. To the lights of St. John Baptist one candle. To each priest celebrating on the day of my burying 4d. To Sir John, chaplain of Sir Nicholas Haute Knight 4d. To William Neusem a gown, striped, of green cloth and one pair of sheets. To the wife of the said William if it please my master one pair of shirts, one "blanckat" and one "quilt". To John Borne one gown of "grice". To John Plomer a gown "de blodeo". To John Ston a pair of sheets. To John Bone a pair of sheets. To Alice Miller of County "Lancastrie" 6s. 8d. To the poor on the day of my burial 7d. I ordain Sir Thomas Bunter rector of the said church my executor. The rest of all my goods I give and leave ¼ ¼ ¼ ¼ ¼ (The MS. here breaks off, apparently in binding up a leaf has been lost).
No probate for above reason. The Will is with those of the year 1410. (51b Arundel Part II)
