JOHN TAYLOR of the parish of Bydenden 10 August 1560, 2 Elizabeth. To be buried in church yearde of Bydenden. To the poore people at my buriall in bread, chese and drinke 10s. To my brother Thomas Petts children euerie of them 20s. at 20 yeres from theire birthe. To my brother Wm. Taylor 6s. 8d. John Mantell my servaunte 10s. Joane Philpotte my servaunte 6s. 8d. Anne Taylor my servaunte 3s. 4d. To Pyrson the wever dwellinge in the towne of Sandwych 10s.To Jone Wylls 3s. 4d. To William Wyllard of Cranbroke, shomaker 10s. To Wm. Alawe wever 5s. To Wm. Gryndeand of Lenham 3 busshells of wheate the which he oweth me. To honest poore people 20s. at discretion of my wyfe and Wm. Lambyn. To every of my godchildren 4d. To Maryon my doughter £20 when 20 or mariage. Residue to Rabedge my wyfe my executrix. Robert Aweston to be supervysor. Last will of my landes and tenements in Bydenden and Fryttenden. I will Rabedge my wyfe have the proffittes etc., to (see page 50) children honestlie governed and brought uppe untill my sonne John do come to the full age of 22 yeres from his birthe at the which age my sonne shall have all my saied landes etc.,paieng to his mother yerelie £4 duringe her lyfe. If he decease then I will Marrion my daughter shall have all my saied lands when 22. If both deease then Rabedge my wyfe for her lief and after unto Thomas Hasell, Thos. Byrde and Thos. Hyksand Wm. Lambyne equalie to be devided upon condicion they paie £80, whereof I will £20 to Thos. Petts children and £20 onto my sister Oswells chyldren and £5 to my brother Water Taylers child-ren and to my sister Wadssonne 40s and the rest to poore people at the discrecon of the foure men (above named).Witness: Richard Hixe, John Mantell, Robert Ethel.
