To be buried in the parish church of Whittkirke on the south syde of the Font. I will all my landes, tenements etc in the liberty of the Towne and port of Douer in Kent vnto John Atkynson and William Atkynson sonnes of John Atkinsonne schoolmaster ioyntly. If they die to remayne to Mary and Suzan Atkynson there systers and I will when the said John and William come to 21 they shal paie to Mary and Suzan each £5. Of 40s. of a some of mony the said John Atkinson dwellinge in my house at Douer oweth me and rents of my house foure yeares to Peter Norton of Austrop my brother and the children of the said Peter. I make Elizabeth Atkynson and William executors and the said Elizabeth I will be gardiane of the saide children. Vnto my godson William Atkynson one chest and a longe settle and a close ioyned chaire. To John Atkynson ye yonger two ioyned chaires, a rounde table with a coubard of walnuttree. To Alice Norton my brother Peter Nortons eldest daughter one chest in my parlour of ye said house called ye Red Lion. My executors shall agree with Mr. Vincent and Mr. Baker for ye redeminge of the annuytie of £4. I make Mr. Thos. Baker of Foulstone and John Bachelor of Douor supervisors. Dated 8 December 1588 in presence of Richard Thorolde, Alexander Dawson, Thos. Bocoke, Matthew Bywater and Henry Poyle.
Proved 5 June 1589 at Douor by the oath of Elizabeth Atkynson one of the executors. (270b Whitgift I).
