To be buried in the church of the Nunnery of Catesby. I leave to the fabric (fabrice) of the said church of Catesby 10 mrcs. To the nuns there for pittances 2 mrcs. I leave to the said nuns a silver "Byker" with cover to their service, so that it be in the custody of the Prioress and her successors. To Agnes "filie mee" (sic) 10 marcs, an ancient maser and a piece of silver with an image of St. Katherine in the cover and a coverlet with tester of white. To the campanile of Charwelton (Northants) £10. To Sir Simon de Charwelton senior a cup (coupam) with a cover with a Saracen’s head, a little maser with the smallest cover. To Sir Simon de Charwelton junior a "Biker" with cover and an acorn? (glaude) and a little maser without a cover. To Robert "filio meo" (sic) 20 marcs, a coverlet with tester "de nodis" (?knots or bands) a pair of sheets, a maser with an image of Saint Martin in the bottom. I leave to John "filio meo" £20, a "Biker" with cover with an unicorn, a coverlet with green tester and a pair of sheets. I leave to Johan "filie mee" £20, a little maser without cover, a coverlet with tester "de blu" and a pair of sheets. I leave to Margaret "filie mee" 20 marcs. I leave to Isabelle Daneys 20 marcs, to Robert de Brunne 40s., Wm. Botiller 20s., Wm. Sunbury 20s., John Cook 10s. and John Valetin (?) 100s. (?name or John the valet).
In expenses of the funeral on the day of my burial and in gifts to the poor as my executors may determine but so that I have 5 wax tapers. I leave, concede and hand to my said executors my farms (firmas) in Hinton, Wodeford, and Charwelton during the periods to run so that deducting expenses the residue to be for a chaplain to celebrate divine office for my soul and all my benefactors. I leave to my executors all rents that I have in the City of London by grant of Thomas de Grantham and the marriage of Elizabeth heir of the same Thomas to that nevertheless that satisfaction be made to my executors because the same Thomas owes me for expenses incurred on his behalf for my labour and Simon my uncle. I leave to Adam Fraunceys "vnum gotet" (?goblet) gilt with cover. To John de Newport a cup of silver with cover. To the church of the Holy Nunnery of Catesby a vestment of Raye with a chalice and to the altar of St. Anne in the church of Charwelton a vestment and to Sir Simon de Charwelton senior a vestment with a silver chalice. To Dame Johan Shepeye a white robe. Residue to be expended for my soul.
Executors: Simon de Charwelton senior, Simon de Charwelton junior, Adam Fraunceys John de Neuport Robin de Brunne and John Valetyn (see supra).
Proved 6th Ides of August 1368 at our Manor of South Malling and administration granted to Sir Simon de Charwelton junior and Robert de Brune with reserved power for the others. The deceased is described as "Dominus Robertus de Charwelton Rector Ecclesie parochialia de Iuechirch in our patronage and diocese". (117b 118a Langham).
