In the year according to the course and computation of the English Church 1370 Indiction Eight, third day of the month of September in the Pontificate of our most holy father and lord Vrban the 5th by divine providence pope the 8th year, in my presence under written the discreet man Master William de Thynghull, Canon of the Cathedral church of Lichfield in the hall of his dwelling in the close of the church of Lichfield personally held a certain paper in his hand assertingit was his last will etc. I WILLIAM DE THYNGHULL Canon of the church of Lichfield, Tuesday next after the feast of St. Giles Abbot, 1370 – To be buried before the altar of St. Radegund in the church of Lichfield. I leave for the glazing of two new windows, upper and lower £20. To each vicar at my funeral and mass being present and making memory for me in their masses 2s. by estimation 60s. To each other priest as well religious as other 12d by estimation 10 marcs. I will five wax candles each of 10 lb of wax to burn round my corps, by estimacion 35s. I will that half the wax remain to burn before the Cross and the image of the glorious virgin in the chapel of the same. To poor on day of my burial. 20th day, months day jd by estimation or the three days £20. My ‘funerals’ to be done reasonably and moderately to the sum of 10 marcs.
I leave for reparation of the defects of the chancel and ornaments of my church of Bisshopesborne and of the edifices of the rectory house and others there belonging to me for which repair I am held of right or custom £40. I will that there be bought two pair of vestments price each 6 marcs, one pair to my church aforesaid and the other pair to the chapel thereto annexed in augmentation of the legacy to the church above and on the express condition that my executors are held free against further charges. To my poor parishioners of the church and chapel aforesaid £20 to each according to the need. I leave to Sir Richard my chaplain 14½ marcs to celebrate for two years for my soul if he will or to be distributed among the poor. I leave to William Wyntereld for his good service to me 20 marcs, with my bed in which I happen to die with all its apparell. I leave to Henry Edward 50s., to Roger Holles 50s., to the Prior of Bradeleye 10 marcs for the use of the priory and not otherwise. To the Nuns of Farewall 20s. To the Friars minors of Lichfield 13s. 4d. 
To the binding of certain books and the better covering of them which books sometime belonged to Master John de Leech, prior of Lantony next Gloucester, and to the Canons of the same priory for pittance 10 marcs. I will 20 priests to celebrate for my soul two years. I will that there be distributed among the poor parishioners of my church and of the church of Chirch Wythyngton (? Co. Hereford). To be delivered to the Abbot of Gloucester two books viz one Rosarius and one book which is called Catholicon , an obligation for 20 marcs to be paid by me to the said Abbot if the books are not returned being surrendered first. I will that Master Nicholas de Markleye have my great breviary (portiforium) which I bought from the executors of the Archdeacon of Bedeford provided he pay £10 as I paid for the same. 
I make my executors Master Richard de Birmyngham, Master Nikolas de Markeley canons of the church of Lichfield and Sir Walter my brother. To Sir Richard de Ledbury chaplain and Sir Wm. de Yoxhale a vicar of the church of Lichfield 20s each. Present "diseretis viris" Sir Nicholas de Grendon priest, Richard Valeys and Thomas Louet vicars of the church of Lichfield and Sir Richard de Southwell, Chaplain. Testification by William Knyght, clerk, Worcester Diocese Notary public. 
Proved 22 January 1370 by Sir Walter de Thyngehull brother of deceased, executor. 
The deceased is styled "Ven. vir Magister Willm de Thyngehull rector ecclesie de Bueschoppesborne". (118a Wynchelse). (The following will appears to pertain to this parish.) JOHN, "procurator" of the church of Bishop (there has been an erasure followed by the words "bono sana mente memoria condo testamentus" etc.) To be buried in the churchyard of the Blessed Mary the Virgin of Bishop aforesaid. To the high altar there two candles. To the lights (luminaria) of the blessed Mary the Virgin two candles. To the lights of St. John Baptist one candle. To each priest celebrating on the day of my burying 4d. To Sir John, chaplain of Sir Nicholas Haute Knight 4d. To William Neusem a gown, striped, of green cloth and one pair of sheets. To the wife of the said William if it please my master one pair of shirts, one "blanckat" and one "quilt". To John Borne one gown of "grice". To John Plomer a gown "de blodeo". To John Ston a pair of sheets. To John Bone a pair of sheets. To Alice Miller of County "Lancastrie" 6s. 8d. To the poor on the day of my burial 7d. I ordain Sir Thomas Bunter rector of the said church my executor. The rest of all my goods I give and leave ¼ ¼ ¼ ¼ ¼ (The MS. here breaks off, apparently in binding up a leaf has been lost). 
No probate for above reason. The Will is with those of the year 1410. (51b Arundel Part II)
