JOHN BORLE, rector of the church of Terryng on the morrow of St. Mathew the Apostle 1372. To be buried in the chancel of St. Andrew of Terryng. To each poor person the day of my burial jd and on my anniversary jd. Three chaplains to celebrate for my soul and the souls of my father and mother, 24 marcs, i.e. to each chaplain 8 marcs, in the church of Terryng. For the two chaplains to celebrate for the same for a year in the church of Borle, 16 marcs. For one chaplain to celebrate in the church of Ponyng (Sussex) half a year for my soul and that of Sir Michael de Ponyng and Johan his wife and their ancestors 8 marcs. I leave to Sir Reginald Saundres chaplain 5 marcs, and to Sir Thomas rector of the church of Ponyng 5 marcs, so that they may be my executors. To Sir Robert Balle, my vicar of Terryng 100s. To Sir Richard, chaplain of Hieu 40d. To Sir Thomas Taupenir chaplain 2s. 6d., Sir Eustace Broune, deacon 2s. 6d. 
To the fabric (fabrice) of the church of Terryng 40s. To the fraternity of St. Andrew before the Cross in the said church 20s. To the fabric of the chapel of Hieu 10s. To the fabric of the chapel of Duryngton, 10s., and of the church of Ponyng 20s. To the fabric of the church of Earde (i.e. Crayford) 40s. To the fabric of the church of Borle 5 marcs., and of the church of Slagham 13s. 4d. To the Friars Minors of Lewes 20s. The Carmelite Friars of Shorham 40s. The Friars Preachers of Arundell 20s. The Friars of Chichester 20s. and the Friars minors there 20s. To the Prior and Convent of Calcote next Arundell 6s. 8d. To the fabric of the mother church of Chichester 2s. To the Hospital of St. James, Lewes, 6s. 8d. To the Hospital of St. James of Shorham 6s. 8d. To the house of St. Katherine next Shorham 6s. 8d. To the house of St. Magdalen next Brembre 6s. 8d. To the hospital of St. James next Chichester 6s. 8d. I leave 5 marcs to be distributed among the poor of the parish of Borle. To William my brother £20 and Elizabeth his wife 40s. To Alice their daughter 20 marcs to her marriage. To William their son 10 marks, to John his brother, the younger, 10 marcs. To Nicholas Rugewyk 20s., Ralph Lambe 6s. 8d., Richard Dygon 6s. 8d., John Putter 6s. 8d., John Page 20s., Johanne his daughter 6s. 8d. To Walter Lambard 40s., John Byng 13s. 4d., William Gardiner of Nytymbre 10s. I make executors Sir Richard, rector of the church of Estlouente, Sir John rector of Edburton, Sir Robert Balle vicar of the church of Terryng and William my brother. 
Proved 9 June 1373 at Otteford by Sir Richard, rector of the church of Estlouent, with reserved power for the other executors. (127b Wytleseye).
