To be buried in the new church of the Friars of Mount Carmel, London, if I die at London, and if in the Northern Parts then in the church of Codyngton and if in the South then at Adesham in the chapel of St. Thomas the Martyr. To the work (fabric) of the church of Adesham 100s. To the work of the church of Staple 100s. To 5 chaplains to celebrate for my soul 40 marcs, of whom two at Adesham, two at Staple. I leave 10 marcs to be distributed on the day of my burial and within eight days to poor parishioners and others. To the Friars Minors of Canterbury 5 marcs, of St. Augustine there 5 marcs, of Mount Carmel 40s., Friars Preachers 40s. and each other Religious House of regulars there 20s.
To the work of the parish church of Hanfeld 10 marcs and the work of the King’s Chapel of Hastynges 5 marcs. To Amice my sister 10 marcs and a piece of silver with six silver spoons and a mazer. To Beatrice and Matilda daughters of Isabella my sister and of Roger de Bury of Newerk for their marriages or other use for them £20. To each of the children of the said Amice 20s. To Nicholas son of John son of Thomas all my books of the law, Civil and Canon and 10 marcs besides. To each of his brothers and sisters 20s. I leave to the chaplains of perpetual chantries in the church of Newerk 100s. To the work of the church of Botlesford 100s. To my lord The King for anything in his Chancery in which I have been remiss for easing of my conscience 20 marcs. To Sir David de Wollore to whom I am beholden for certain things my two silver cups with covers like chalices at Adesham, with one Collok [drinking vessel] enamelled inside which I had of the gift of Robert de Caldwell, 12 silver spones and two little mazers and my chest with iron bands. To Katherins "de Templo" in aid of her keeping and in full satisfaction of all I owe her 10 marcs To Isabella Porter of Codyngton 6s. 8d., Alice Porter 6s. 8d., John Maynard 40s., Henry my lad (garcioni) 60s Simon page of my kitchen 13s. 4d., Cecilie de Bosyngton 6s. 8d.
