One in masses for my soul and my father and mother. The second between poor people. (Third not named). The fourth part in two , one in priests celebrating in the church of Schipwik (Dorset) where the body of my father lies and the other to poor and weak priests and widows that they may pray for the souls aforesaid. Of my silver and gilt vessels I leave to Master Robert my brother my gilt mug very beautiful worth 100s. or thereabouts. To Dame Johanne my sister my better standing "beker" of silver and the second best ‘beker’ I leave to Alice my sister Lady of Catecote. To Master Robert Wicford Canon of Exeter my bowl called "Cowighe". To Master Nicholas Chaddesdenne, Canon of Lichfield my great silver ‘Biker’ which I had from Master John Codynton. I wish that the ‘Corpus iuri’ viz five books of Civil Law I bought from Master Ralph Ryngestede and the Bishop of Bangor his brother for 22 marcs remain in the hands of the heirs of the Lord Catecote aforesaid so that on good security they may be let to Thomas son of Johanne my sister if he desire to hear Civil Law until such time as he can buy other books and then return the same to the Lord of Catecote that other sons and sons sons of my said sister may similarly use them under similar security.
I wish that my book which is called "Johannes Andrew in addicionibus" be given to the friars minors of Briggewater. I wish that my book which is called "Hostien: in summa" be sold and 20s. distributed for the soul of Master William Langbury and all faithful departed and the residue remain to the aforesaid four parts. I wish that my "decreta parva antique" and "Liber decretum" worth 40s. or thereabouts which I with great labour applied myself to, be sold and the money distributed between the poor for the soul of Robert sometime of the church of Milvertone Wells Diocese, from whom I had the said decretals. All fruits of my benefices at the time of my death to go to the repair of the chancels and houses of my benefices and the rest among poor parishioners.
I leave and desire that the Religious of Lesnes be freed of £20 in which they are held to me that they may pray for me. Also I quit claim John Malwey from all actions and quarrels. I desire that the Religious of Lesnes have the lands and manor which was Sir John Baunde’s in the parish of Bixele, Rochester diocese which I bought with my money of John Laundes, goldsmith of London and I wish that they have my lands and houses in Newenton, Canterbury diocese with their appertenances which I bought of Sir John, vicar of the church of Newenton and that therewith they find a perpetual chantry for one Canon in their Conventual church for my soul and the souls aforesaid, viz my father and mother, benefactors and all faithful departed. To Thomas Walton my best plain piece with a cover. I leave my book called "Concordancia" worth 10 marcsto the Religious of the Charterhouse, London to pray for me. Executors.
