LORA ATE LESE, Tuesday in the Feast of St. Edward, Archbishop, 1378. To be buried in the chapel of St. Pancras the martyr in the Monastery of St. Augustine Canterbury. On the day of my burial in distribution to each poor person coming jd and on my month’s day jd and my anniversary jd. I leave 13 tunics of russett with hoods for 13 poor men on the day of my burial. I leave 20 marcs for two chaplains to celebrate for my soul and the souls of my parents for one year, one where my body shall be buried in the above chapel and the other in the chapel of Blessed Mary of Sheldwich. To the work (opus) of the church of Sheldwich 6s. 8d. I leave 4 marcs to find cows to sustain the Chapel of St. Mary in the north part of the church of Sheldwich and the chapel of Richard and Lucie (sic) in the south part of the same church.*
I leave to the work (opus) of the church of Holyngborne 13s. 4d. To Sir Richard ate Lese Knight my son a great chest. To William Topclyu a covered silver cup with a foot. To Johan wife of Reginald Kyngeslond a brass chafer and a best gown. To Johan wife of William Dodele a qr. of wheat. To Cecillie daughter of Sir Richd ate Lese knight 40s. 
To the hospital of St. James, Canterbury 20s., of St. Lawrence 20s., the nuns of St. Sepulchre there 20s. To two clerks serving in the chapel of Blessed Mary in the monastery of St. Gregory Canterbury 4s. To the vicar of the church of Northgate Canterbury 10s. on condition that he lays no claim to my body or first mass on the day of my burial. I leave £20 to be distributed at discretion of my executors amongst my poor kinsfolk not named in this will. To William Vynch a qr. of wheat and of barley. To Agnes Daniel my green gown. To each godson and daughter 12d. To John Halke my servant £13. 6. 8d. To Marcel my servant a qr. of wheat and barley. To Cristine ‘famule mee’ 20s., Agnes ‘famule mee’ a ‘Kertil de Tany and j corset’. To Isabel, Agnes, Alice and John Grete praying for me 4s. between them. Residue of my chamber and kitchen to Anne wife of Marcel ate Lese and Agnes Daniel. 
To the Friars Minors of Canterbury my corrody for a year in the Monastery of St. Augustine Canterbury. To the Friars Preachers there a corrody for a year. I leave the same corrody to Sir Richard ate Lese, Knight my son for two years. To Denyse my daughter for two years. To the Austin Friars there a corrody for a year and the residue of the same corrody to Sir Richard ate Lese Knt. and Marcel my sons. Residue of all goods to executors to distribute for my soul.
To Denyse, wife of Sir Richard ate Lese Knt. a ‘broch’ of gold. I make executors Sir Richd ate Lese Knt. and Marcel ate Lese my sons and Reginald Kyngeslond, supervisor I make Wm. Topclyue. To each canon in the Mon: of St. Gregory, Cant: 3s. 4d. 
We Simon by divine permission Archbishop notify all that Probate was granted of this Will before our Chancellor and Commissary because Dame Lora deceased "nobilis persona fuit ac bona tam iurisdictione nostra exempta quam alibi in Diocesi nostra" 5 April 1379 and 4th year of our Translation Acquittance to executors 2 May 1379. * The south chancel is usually assigned to St. Margaret. Richard and Lucie must refer to owners or persons there buried, probably members of the family.
