ROGER DIGG, Friday next before the feast of Saint Thomas the Apostle, 48th year of the reign of Edward III. To be buried in the church or churchyard of Berham or elsewhere at ordination of my executors. I wish that my executors make a Chantry for the good state of the Lord King and for my soul and the souls of Thomas Trelleke late Bishop of Rochester and all my parents, benefactors and all faithful departed, 3000 masses by divers chaplains as quickly as possible. 
To William Kerkeby and Agnes his wife in aid of themselves and their sons and marriage of their daughters all the land which I bought at Faukham [ Fawkham ] and Derine of Roger Kerkeby and 200 sheep there and £37 which Clemens Fisian owes me of the first two years. My feoffees to give the said land to William and Agnes and their heirs, and if they die without heirs then to my right heirs. I will that the lands and tenements at Chepstede [Chepsted manor in Kingsdown (West)] after the death of Alice wife of John Solis shall be given by James de Pecham and other my feoffees to the heirs of the body of the said Alice and in default to my right heirs. 
I leave to Simon Monyn my long girdle of silver and to Elene his wife my sister a ring after the discretion of my brother. To Nicholas atte Crouche a cup with a cover of silver to the value of 40s. or 40s. I leave to Master Edmund de Godwynstone, parson of Kyngestone 40s. To John Lynche 100s. To John Medeforde 40s., William Broke 40s., William Tebold 20s. and a robe of cloth. I will that all my other cloth (pannus) for vestures be distributed between my other servants and other poor persons. I leave to John Solis 40s. and Alice his wife a ring. To Sir William Prat 40s. and his brother ‘frabr’ so that they discharge my soul of the purchase of lands and tenements of theirs at Plumbstede, 10 marcs.
I leave to John Colley those 25 marcs he owes me and to his wife 40s. for a gown so that they discharge my soul of the purchase of their lands and tenements at Stone. To the Prioress and nuns of St. Sepulchre at Canterbury so that they discharge my soul of the purchase of Brome and pray for me £10. To John Ingelard so he discharge my soul of the purchase of his house in London, one acre of land which he holds to farm.
To each order of friars in Canterbury and the house of Harbaldon and the house of Northgate 20s. To the Prior of St. James 20s. To Thomas de Godwynstone 40s. I wish that all debts or legacies of Abbyne late my wife be paid as are contained in the certain folio in a quarternus of paper and my debts as in the same quarternus. I leave to John Lidle 10 marcs of the debt he owes me and to Robert atte Gore and Agnes his wife 5 marcs. To John Elys of Canterbury 20s., Sir John vicar of Newenton 40s. To William Peryngale 20s. Residue to John Digg, clerk, my brother and executor.
Dated last of August 49th year of King Edward III. I leave John Wantynge 5 marcs of the debt he owes me. To my Lord the Bishop of Rochester those 5½ marcs which Edmund Lakynghethe owes me of the arrears of my fee (feodi). To the monk his chaplain 20s. 
Proved 18 Kln. Oct LXXVIII 1378 at Croidon by Master John Dygs executor. Acquittance dated ij Idus Nov LXXIX 1379 at Otteford. (79a Sudbury).
