To be buried in the chapel of St. Katherine of Cherlewode (Sussex). To the covering (cooperturam) of the said chapel 10s. To the rector of the church of Penshurst to celebrate for my soul 30s. To the vicar of the church of Cherlewood for the same 30s. To the rector of the church of Chydyngstone for the same 3s. 4d., and the Vicar of Ifeld (Sussex) 30s. I leave a cow to find a wax candle to burn before the altar of St. Katherine of Cherlewode. I leave in honour of the Holy Trinity three cows to find and sustain a wax candle before the altar of Saint Mary of Penshurst one before the image of St. John Baptist and one before the image of St. Katherine in the foresaid church. To Ralfe my brother a gold ring and a gold buckle. I leave for the celebration for my soul of 5000 masses £19. To the vicar of the church of Horsle 6s. 8d. to celebrate for my soul. I constitute executors Alice my wife, Ralph de Cobham my brother, Willm Horswelle, John Barowe and Thomas Icombe clerks. Residue to Alice my wife. Proved
1 October 1375, in a chamber of the manor of Gatewyk in the immediate jurisdiction of the Archbishop, by Alice wife of deceased and principal executor. Acquittance on 5th Ides of June 1376. (80 Sudbury).
