To be buried in the chancel of the church of St. Leonard of Estchepe London, next the image of the said St. Leonard "versus partem borialem". I leave for my sepulture and that of Alice my wife if it shall please her to have it there according to the disposition of my executors £20. To the Rector for tithes and to permit the burial and me and my wife £10. I leave to the celebration of 1000 masses for my soul and the souls of Thomas my father, Letice my mother, John de Craidon, Christina his wife, John Toget my grandfather and Agnes wife of the said John Doget (sic) and all faithful departed £10 of which 1000 masses I will that the Friars Preachers of London celebrate 100 from day to day after my decease and have 20s. of the said £10. The Carmelites of London 100 masses and 20s., the Friars Minors 100 (20s.) Austin Friars 100 (20s.).
To the Hospital of Blessed Mary outside Bysshopisgate, St. Bartholomew, B. Mary of Elsyngspitell, St. Giles of Holborn, St. James outside Westminster and St. Thomas of Suthwerk to each 20s. to celebrate 100 masses. Trentalls at all the feasts of Pentecost Holy Trinity, Ascencion of our Lord etc. For funeral expenses £40. To the House of Lepers "apud lok Hakenye etc" to each 6s. 8d. (To Prisoners in various London Prisons etc). I leave to Christina Cokke of Eltham if she be alive at my death 40s.
To repair of a certain way which leads to Canterbury between the church of St. George of Southwerk and le Loke 100s. I leave to be distributed to the poor where greatest need is in the Island of Hertye in Kent 40s. I leave to John Kirkeby my servant 100s. My executors shall remit to John Shirborne my servant 40 marcs of the 100 marcs in which he is bound to me by his letter of obligation, he to help my executors and Alice my wife ‘benigne se gerat’. To Geoffrey Haket my servant 40s. To Alice dau: of Mary (sic) 20s. To each other of my servants 6s. 8d. I will that all my personal linen etc be distributed amongst my servants. I will £40 to find three chaplains to celebrate in the church of St. Leonard. I leave £20 to paint the altar in the chapel of Blessed Mary in the church of St. Leonard, the image of B. Mary in the said chapel and the screens (interclausi) of the said chapel and chancel there by the advice of my executors. If anything remains then I will it go in help of the Lord’s Sepulchre there. To John Doget my son £100 together with £200 already received for the marriage of the said John and Idonea his wife, for all things the said John has touching my goods. Residue to Alice my wife. Principal Executor John Doget my son, William Spaldyng, tailor and Sir Ralph Lude my chaplain co-executors Supervisors Henry Vanner and Wm. Gresewyk.
