HENRY CASTILAYN of Bexle in Kent, 4 April 1407. To be buried in the parish church of Bexle. To high altar of parish church of Earde for tithes etc., 6s. 8d. To the work (opus) of the said church 100s. For 100 masses to be celebrated in one day for my soul 8s. 4d. To the exhibition of a certain honest chaplain to celebrate for my soul for a whole year in the church of Eard [Crayford] 8 marcs, and in the church of Bexle two years 16 mrcs. To the high altar of Bexle for tithes etc., 6s. 8d. I leave for a window to be made in the west part of the same church 40s. To sick poor on the day of my burial and months mind 13s. 4d. I leave six torches to be distributed to three churches viz Earde, Bexle and Eynesford. 
I leave to the custodians of the goods of the church of Bexle all my bees to find and sustain always in future three wax candles in the same church, one before the Image of the Virgin in the chancel therer of Blessed Mary, and two before the images of the blessed Virgins Katherine and Margaret. I leave to the same wardens for the time being to hold and celebrate yearly for ever my anniversary in the said church 20s., viz in ringing of bells 2d., to each parish clerk 2d., for the services (exequias) and in oblations 3d. and in bread to be distributed in money and in drink 4d. (residue not provided for.) 
To amending a certain way called Blakevenstrete extending and beginning from Bladynden to Blakevengate 20s. To amending a way next Brookland in Bexle 6s. 8d. Residue to Simon Casteleyn my brother, William Cane, William Browne and John Wynterflod my executors. Dated at Bexle. 
Proved 19 April 1407 by Simon Casteleyn, Wm. Cane and John Wynterfloed, with power reserved for Wm. Broun. He is styled "Henricus Castelayne de Bexle domicellus noster defunctus". (237a Arundel I).
