JOHN GOOLDE, 23 June 1406. To be buried where God shall wish. To my confessor 12d. To the parish chaplain 12d. I leave 8s. 4d. for a hundred masses to be celebrated for the health of my soul in one day. I leave to William Goolde my father 6 marcs. To my mother 3 marcs. To Agnes my sister 2 marcs. To my father a gown of ‘medley’ of the livery of the Lord Archbishop, furred "de pellibus aquinis" and I leave a green gown of ‘frise’, also a little basilard harnessed with silver. I leave to my mother a girdle harnessed with silver, and a blue gown. I leave to my sister a little gold ring, a ‘coverlyt’ of mixed blue and red powdered with roses "et capital" of the same suit and 3 sheets of which one ‘capitale’, another pair of stout cloth and one of Canvas and two blankets. 
On the day of my burial three wax candles £6. 13. 4. in bread drink and cheese 3s. 4d., in a chest and key (in cista et clavis) 12d., in new linen cloth in which I am buried 2s., in oblations in the parish church 16d. In drinking of the lords and friends of the court and the attendants of the lord 5s. 6d. Itm Bedeman one penny. Itm Parish clerk 12d. for his labour. Itm in oblations in the Lord’s chapel 11d. Total 20s. On month’s day for all matters 5s. 
I leave Johane "amite mee" at Weston 3s. 4d. To Master Walter Dauy 3s. 4d. To John Knoll, a knife, harnessed and 6s. 8d. To the wife of the same John 3s. 4d. to his daughter 12d., to the two sons of the said John two hoods one is medley and the other black. To my mother 3s. 4d. to distribute to the poor in my natal town of Weston. I leave to my father greaves (ocreas) and a pair of spurs. Residue to executors whom I make Master William Piers, Master Walter Dauy and John Knoll. 
Proved 3 July 1406 ‘in our manor of Maydenston’ the Will of John Goolde, clerk, "et famuliaris nostri" deceased. (211b Arundel 1).
