JOHN GARDYNER of the Town of Romene Saturday next after the Feast of St. Bartholomew 1402. To be buried in the churchyard of the church of Blessed Nicholas of Romene. To the shrine of St. Thomas Canterbury 12s. To the high altar of the said church of B. Nicholas 3s. 4d. To the parish chaplain of that church 12d., the parish clerk 6d. and sacrist 4d. To the fabric (fabrice) 6s. 8d. To each of my spiritual sons 12d. To John Clyntoun a coverlet and sheet. Residue to Alice my wife and Johan my daughter and said Alice executrix. Dated at Romene. Witnesses Sir Willm Watte, chaplain, Hugh Fleytchere, John Frensshe and others. 
Proved in the palace of Canterbury 9 December 1402 by Alice executor. (197a Arundel I).
