I leave to the Abbey of Newenham all my books of civil and canon law and to the fabric (fabrice) of the church of the said Abbey £20 and to each Canon there 6s. 8d. to pray for my soul. To the Prior 20s. To William Goldyngton my kinsman £40. To John Russell £40. To Richard Aspele 100s. and my bed of red ‘worsted’. To Acres de Appulton 26s. 8d and my bed of green and bluish colours. To John Stok 20s., Henry Cook 6s. 8d., Gulfram Wall 20s and my bed of green and white colours. To Richard Stryxton chaplain 20s. and to John Bradle chaplain 20s. To Robert Ronhale my kinsman (cognato) to his exhibition ‘ad scolas’ 100s. To Richard Bolnhurst 13s. 4d.
To each nun of the House of Elnestowe (Co. Beds) 3s. 4d and to the Abbess of that house 6s. 8d. to pray for me. To John Bregges, chaplain 20s. and my mantle of ‘sanguen frise’ and my ‘goun’ of blue (blodio) medley (lined penulatam) with "luces and poplez" with a hood of the same. I wish that 60 poor persons be clothed in black cloth at my expense as quickly as may be after my decease each having a gown with hood for his use to pray for me. Residue to Sir Thomas Stanley Clerk of the Rolls of our Lord the King, Robert Faryngton, Robert Bolyngbrok, William Goldyngham my kinsman and John Russhell whom I make my executors and as supervisor Sir John Searle clerk. Proved 5 February 1400 by William Goldyngton and John Russhell with reserved power for the others. (178b Arundel I).
