Will of SIR THOMAS DE HOLAND, Earl
of Kent In the name of God, Amen. In the day of the resurreccion of our Lord Ihu
Christ the her of hym a thousand thre hundred four score and seventeen, I Thomas
of Holand Erl of Kent and Lord Wake beyuie in hol memorie ordeyne and make my
testament in this corse. First I yene and bytake my soule to our Lord Ihu Christ
and to hys mercy and to the help and grace of our lady his blisfol moder and the
help of alle seyntes of heuene. And my body to be buried as sone as hit goolich
may in the Abbeye of Brume and I yeue and deuyse to Alys my wif and Thomas my
sone al my catayl and godes moebles praying my wyf for al the love and trust
that hath ben by twyn vs and also praying and charging my sone upon my blesyng
that they by good love and on assent gouerne hem in gwych wyse that at hur pouer
my dettes mowe be guyted and my odl servants inholpe yu discharge of me And to
execute my wylland denys a fore sayd I ordeyne and make my wyf and sone aforsayd

Proved 10 May 1397 in our manor of Lambeth by Thomas son of the
said Earl with reserved power for Lady Alice relict. [157a Arundel I]
