My soul to Allmighty God, the glorious and blessed Virgin Mary and Saint John Baptist my special lord and patron and all Saints and my body to be buried at the discretion "filii et amici mei" Master Robert Hallum Canon of Sarum and others my executors. To the ‘fabrice’ of the church of Clyve 40s., and of the church of St. John Baptist of Croydon where I was sometime Rector 40s. To each of my poor parishioners in Clyve 12d and in Croydon 4d. To each tenant of Bicton 12d.
To my lord Thomas by divine grace Archbishop of Canterbury a gilt cup which I had of the gift of the King, whom I beseech by the mercy of Jesus Christ that he may be good lord to me nor suffer injury to my successor. I leave to Master Adam de Mottrum my bed of arras with tester and all the belongings. I leave to be distributed in alms and celebration of masses directly after my decease as I have declared to Master Robert. I leave of my goods to the entire construction and making of the parish church of Godewyk where I was born according to the view, ordination and disposition of Master Robert de Hallum who has promised to me in good faith to see consummated effectually this work.
I leave to the College of Ruysshworth (Norf:) the books which are entitled in a volume of Decretals and I have shown to Master Robert de Hallum. Residue to sustentation of Chaplains and other works of piety according to disposition of the said Master Robert whom I specially ask for the love of Jesus Christ that he may be a friend of my soul and dispose for the health thereof, and I make him my executor with my most dear kinsman Walter Godard and Sir William vicar of Bycton and John Waldescheff.
Proved 25 April 1397 in our palace at Canterbury and administration granted to "dilecto filio Magistro Roberto Hallum, canonico Sarum executori". (156b Arundel 1).
