To the fabric of the church of Blessed Mary of Breden my best bed of ‘tapicer’ work with a Lion in the midst. To Margery who was wife of Geoffry atte Well another bed of green colour and a piece of silver I bought of the said Geoffry. To John Bastard my brother another bed with ‘Wodewoses’ with the whole belongings. To the Austin Friars 20s. Friars Preachers 12d., and Friars Minors of Canterbury 12d. To the Rector of the church of Breden forsaid for tithes &c 6s. 8d. To the parish clerk 12d. To the said John Bastard my brother another piece of silver.
I grant to William Emeri and Richard Water a certain messuage or tenement of mine in the City of Canterbury in the parish of St. Mary Breden which I lately bought of the said Geoffry atte Well for ever, wishing and wholy desiring that the said Margery late wife of Geoffry may have as dower as belongs to her according to the custom of ‘Gavelkende’ and the said William and Richard to dispose of the overplus for my soul as they shall see fit. Executors William Emeri, Richard Water and residue to them. I leave Sir John Seuenoke chaplain my basilard harnessed with silver. To Robert Parkman my horn harnessed with silver. To the said Margery two silver spoons. To William Basket and Alice his wife 20s. I will moreover that the said Wm. Basket and John Suenoke ordain and arrange for my expenses the day of my death and burial. I leave to the wife of my brother a gown of ‘Mustardiuelers’. To my brother a white gown furred with white lamb. To Henry Pikenet a gown, green, lined with blue cloth. To the Abbot of St. Augustine’s Canterbury all my armour, a lance and the better ‘pollax’. To Richard Colyn a gown.
