WILLIAM SNAYTH. Thursday 6th March 1409. To be buried in the church of St. Margaret of Adynton. To high altar for tithes etc., forgotten 6s. 8d. To the high altar of Ryersh 20d. To the work (opus) of the church of Adynton 6s. 8d. I leave a chasuble with alb and apparel to the said church. To the Friars of Aylesford to the work of their church £10. To the lights of St. Mary of West Mallet (sic) 6s. 8d. To the Abbey of Mallymt (sic) and senior Abbess each 3s. 4d. To each nun in the same abbey 20d. To the Abbey of Langdon to the amending of the refectory there 100s. To the Abbey of Boxle 40s. I will my executors arrange that a mass of requiem shall be celebrated with all solemnity in the Monastery of Bythorne, in the Diocese of Ely, satisfaction being made to the canons, vicars and other ministers. To the new work of the church of the Blessed Peter of York 20s. To the amending of the tomb of Sainte John of Brydelyngton 3s. 4d. 
To the amending of the King’s way between Adyngton and Mallyng 40s. To my tenants of Adyngton a quarter’s rent after my decease. I will my servants be fully paid their wages to the feast of Easter next following. I give to Roger Nocherst 13s. 4d., Simon Garald 13s. 4d., Adam my servant 40s., Ralph his fellow 40s., John Busyn 6s. 8d., Alice my servant 20s., John Scot 20s. 
I will that Alice my wife have the half of all my goods and the other part, not bequeathed, be sold to pay debts and fulfil my will. To diverse parish churches 19 chalices where greatest need can be found in Kent, price of each 26s. 8d., and 19 corporals with coverings to the same churches. I leave to the finding of two chaplains to celebrate for my soul in the church of Adyngton and one at West Mallyng for 5 years £100 each taking 10 marcs yearly and each to celebrate yearly a Trental of St. Gregory for my soul and my father and mother. I leave 24 Torches (torges) to burn round my body on the 30th day after my decease price of each 6s. 8d. 
To 24 poor persons each a gown and 4d. Afterwards the torches to be distributed to churches 5 being given to Adyngton. To each poor person on day of my death 8 months mind 1d. and food and drink. To be expended on the day of my burial and month’s day and years mind £20. Residue to my wife. I will that Robert Wacton (sic) my relative (consanguineus) and my feoffee with Thomas Watton his brother in my manor of Palstre in Isle of Oxeney have the said manor after my death paying for the manor to me and my executors 400 marks viz 250 marks to pay my debts and fulfil my will and £100 for the said three chaplains for five years. I will all my lands and tenements in Leyborn and Estmallyng be sold to pay debts etc. I ordain executors Alice my wife, Robert Wacton, John Thost rector of the church of Elmele, William Manware and Robert my son.
