To be buried in the chancel of Saint Mary the Virgin in the church of Sydyngborne next Margaret late my wife if it fortune me to die this time. To the high altar 6s. 8d. To Sir John Bodyham chaplain there 2s. To Sir Wm. Sprot chaplain 2s. To the principal parish clerk there 12d. To the lights before the high cross 6s. 8d. To the church of Sydyngbourne according to the disposition of my executors and supervisor 40s. To each poor person coming and the day of my burial and month’s day jd. For a pilgrimage to Walsyngham after my decease 10s. and one to Brydlyngton 20s. For 100 masses to be celebrated for my soul by the Carmelite Brothers of Eylesford and by the Friars Minors at Canterbury and by the Friars Preachers there and the Augustine Friars 33s. 4d.
To Marrhus my son all my armour with my great baselard and all my best clothes with fur and coverlet tester and a pair of blankets a pair of sheets a materas and a dish by the view of my supervisor and two horses one grey which I bought of Thomas Bugge, with my best saddle and its belongings, and the other called a ‘gyldyng’ of the same colour with another good saddle. To Thomas Coumbe my ‘famulus’ 20s. To Richard "spurio meo" dwelling with Johan Hunte 33s. 4d. I wish my goods and chattels in Kent divided into three parts one for myself, another for Cristine my wife and the third for my sons and daughters after my debts and legacies are paid. Residue to my wife sons and daughters. I make my wife and Marrus my son Executors and Henry de Birtenton supervisor.
