CLEMENT OUERTON of the parish of St. Nicholas atte Wade in the Isle of Thanet. Thursday next after the Feast of St. Dunstan, Bishop 1439. To be buried in the said church before the altar of St. George. To the high altar 20d. To the said altar of St. George 3s. 4d. To Nicholas my son my best horse. To Clement my son another horse, a black gown and 5 marcs. To the said Nicholas a gown of Musterdevilers and another one of scarlet. To Clement my said son a hewke (mantle) of scarlet. To Robert Merssh a gown of Ray. To Thomas Motte a black gown. To William Hall my best striped gown. I leave 10 mrcs for a priest to celebrate for my soul for a year. Residue to Cristine my wife and I make her executor and my beloved in Christ John de Chambr to dispose for my soul.
