WILLIAM CHAPMAN, 20 November 1431, declared before divers persons. To be buried in the churchyard of the church of Saints Peter and Paul of Charryng. To the high altar 6s. 8d. To the parish clerk 3s. 4d. To the light of the Holy Cross 12d. of St. Mary 12d. of St. James 12d. To the light of St. Katherine of the church of Little Chart 20s. To John son of Thomas Best my godson 12d. Residue to John Gelote to dispose. Written at Cherryng. 
Proved 25 January 1431 in our Palace at Canterbury by John Gelote executor. (424b Chichele I).
