JOHN ESTCOURT, Dean of the Royal Free Chapel of Saint Martin the Great, London. To be buried in the choir of the said free chapell where my executors decide. To the high altar of the chapel a golden cloth price 66s. 8d. To William Estcourt my brother 100 mrcs. To John son of my said brother 20 mrcs. To Sir Thomas Kempston Knight a gilt cup. To the high altar of St. Stephen’s Bristoll where I was lately Rector an apparel of Arras viz a frontal a superfrontal with two ‘curtyns’ so that notwithstanding the death of Master John Wyke late rector there deceased my memory may specially be had each year by name. 
To William Stirop my servant my horse ‘baiard’ on which I am wont to ride. To John Goodfalow my ‘famulus’ 26s. 8d. and my horse ‘Dun trotter’. To John Byde my ‘famulus’ 40s. To Thomas Brouns my cloak with hood of grey furred. To Master John Lyndefeld a mantle of Menyver. To Master William Estcourt my kinsman my gown of Scarlet. To Sir John Wylburfoys another gown of Scarlet with one of my horses ‘bruni coloris’ on which Wodeward is wont to ride. To Juliana Bolle my gown of musterdevillers and to Sir Thomas Drury my fellow canon the fur of the same gown. 
To the parish church of Saltwode my gradual there and to the chapel of St. Leonard annexed to the same church (i.e. Hythe) a processional and a hymnary in my chest at Saltwode. I will that my executors if it can be done pay seven pounds for a pair of organs for the Quier of the said chapel of St. Martin the Great. Residue in masses etc. Executors the ‘discreet men’ Masters Thomas Brouns, John Lyndefeld and Wm. Estcourt. Dated in my dwelling at St. Martin the Great London 26 November 1427. 
Proved 2 December 1427 by Master Wm. Escourt with reserved powers for the others. (401b Chichele I)
