My body or corpse to be buried in the churchyard of Preston next the sepulture of William de Makenade. To the fabric (fabrice) of the nave 20s. To the fabric of the nave of the church of Dauyngton 20s. To the high altar of the church of Sellyng 6s. 8d., of Fauersham 3s. 4d., of Harenhill 3s. 4d. I leave to Arthur my attendant (famulo) 10s. To John Parker my attendant 13s. 4d. To John my bastard son 100s. To Philip my attendant 20s. To Isabel Haute mother of my wife 40s. To Parnel my servant 3s. 4d. To John Brunston my kinsman 40s.
Executors Johanne my wife and John my bastard son. Residue to Johanne my wife. Let it be known to all that Thomas Brunston of Preston next Fauersham by my deed have enfeoffed Robert de Ponynges Lord of Ponynges, John Martyn of Grauene one of the Justices of our Lord the King, Roger Rye, John Senteclier, John Petyt, John Cely and Richard Seintclier in all my lands and tenements in the town of Fauersham, Preston next Fauersham, Harenhill, Borton under le Bleen, Sellyng next Chilham.
My feoffees shall enfeoff Johanne my wife in all the foresaid lands etc. for the term of her life so that after her decease they shall remain to Thomas, William, John Junior, Robert and Richard my sons. If all die without heirs, quod absit, all the lands etc shall remain to Katherine and Isabella my daughters. If all die then all shall be sold and disposed in pious uses for the soul of William de Makenade and the my soul and Johanne my wife, my friends benefactors etc by the forsaid John Martyn and his assigns. Dated 20 October 1 Henry 6th.
Proved 20 March 1424 by executors except John Brunston co-executor who declined. (383a Chichele I).
