The Will of ROGER WHELPDALE, Bishop of Carlisle dated 25 January ‘in die conuersionis Sancti Pauli’ 1422. To be buried in a lowly place in the entrance of a church or near where it shall happen me to be buried which church if it be possible to be dedicated in honour of Blessed Mary the Mother of God or of Saint Mary Magdalene or Saint Paul.
He leaves gifts to Queens College Hall and Ballioll Hall Oxford etc etc. The following appears to be a Kent reference "I wish that my manor of Ston with all its appendices in Cliffe, in Darent and all cattle thereabouts which I have (and all my tenements in Kyngeston) be sold".
Proved in 1422 (day and month not filled in). (353b Chichele I).
