My soul to Almighty God, the Blessed Virgin Mary His Mother and the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, Blessed Erkenwald glorious confessor, my patron and All Saints. To be buried in my church of London if it be possible otherwise in an honest place as the Most High shall please. I leave £100 for my funeral expenses and for a marble stone to be placed over my body.
I leave £100 between the poor of my lordships or manors. I leave 1000 marcs to my poor scholars present and future in Oxford in my Hospitium called Burnell to those dwelling or about to dwell and to the Fellows of the same. So that of the said 1000 marcs may be given by my executors to the Master and Fellows (Sociis) for their sustentation £40 yearly until the said 1000 marcs be paid.
I leave to Robert Clyfford Esquire my brother, a great silver gilt cup with a cover and upon the ‘pomellum’ of the same a white falcon, a silver dish with my arms, a bed of black and red silk containing a coverlet a tester, a cler, 3 ‘curteyns’ of red tartarin, 4 gwysshyns and six coverings (tapete) of red ‘worsted’.
Residue of all my goods not assigned I give to my executors my beloved in Christ the "Venerable men", Robert Clifford my brother, Richard Whidyngton citizen of London, and Master Richard Bruton chancellor of the church of Wells. Witnesses: Sir John Rider, rector of the parish church of Stone Rochester diocese, John Herteford, rector of the parish church of Dunhed St. Andrew, Sarum diocese, John Honden rector of the parish church of Clothale Lincoln Diocese, John Wyghton, rector of the parish church of Acton, London Diocese and John Sudbury, clerk, notary public. Dated at Douorr 20 August in the above year.
