JOHN HUGWET of Chartham, 26 September 1420. To be buried in the churchyard of the parish church of Blessed Mary of Chartham. To the parish chaplain to celebrate divine service there 20d. To the holywater clerk there 6d. To Richard Gybbys 12d. To John Jerkyn sacrist of the church of Chartham 6d. To the work (opus) of the church 40s. To the light of the Holy Cross 2 qrs of barley. To five other lights of saints in the same church viz to each half a qr of barley. To Thomas Goodhale 20s. To a priest to celebrate in the said church for my soul and my parents 10 marcs. To the fabric (fabrice) of the church of Petham 40s. and for a priest to celebrate there 10 marcs. 
To Cecilia my wife 50 sheep and 40s. yearly for her life of my lands and tenements. To John Morle 6s. 8d., William Fordmyle junior 6s. 8d., Robert son of Thomas Gregorie 5 qrs of barley and to the same Thomas Gregorie 20 qrs of barley being in his hands on condition that he release to me and my heirs all actions he has against me from the beginning of the world to to this present. 
To twelve poor persons in the parish of Chartham to each a jupon, a pair of boots and a pair of shoes. To John son of Richard Grove 10s. To Johanne wife of Hamond of Stapill and Christina wife of William Pouxton my sisters an acre and a half of land in Fullyngiscrofte. To Robert Ottyng a messuage with a garden at Horton between my messuage on the one side and that of Ebote Trenday on the other. To Thomas Gregori and Robert his son a messuage with garden and two acres of land at Gyrlinche in the parish of Petham. Residue to Cecille my wife and John my son, my executors. 
Proved 10 November 1420 before John, prior of Christ Church Canterbury for the most Reverend in Christ, Father and Lord, the Lord Henry, by the Grace of God Archbishop of Canterbury. (340a Chichele I).
