26 Maie 37 Elizabett. Nicholas Upton of the
towne and libertie of Feversham. To poore of Feversham 10s
yearly till my youngest son be 20. To poor of Orpsinge 10s.
My brother John Upton 20s for a ringe. My
brother Edward Fagge 20s. My brother John Wood 20s.
My daughter Elisabett Upton £200 at 21 or marriage. My
daughter Martha Upton 200 mks at 21 or marriage.
Provision for any child my wife may bear after my discease.
The maior and Juratts of Feversham to receive same.
To George Upton my son all the wenscotts, paintinge,
clothes etc. in the messuage I dwell in in Feversham after decease of
Alice my wife.
To John Upton my son my ringe of goulde with my sealeof
Armes and my best Armour furnished.
Residue to Alice my wife and ex.
My wife to have revenues etc. to bringing upp of my otter
children vidlt: John, Walter, Stephyn, George and the child which my
wife shall goe withall at the time of my decease.
My brethern Edward Fagg Esquier and John Upton gent for
performing my will and to see thereto if my wife marry.
My lands. Leases grannted to Thomas Taylor of Leedes in
Kent and Thomas Wood of Estchurch gent, tenements in Ospringe and Stone
of £30 a yeare to use of Alice my wife.
My lease of the manor of Leisdowne (Leysdown) in Sheapie (Sheppy)
to John Upton my on with remainder to Waltar Upton my 2nd son
and to Waltar my tenement called Sindaie als Sindall in occupacion of
Thomas Allen and woods in Ospringe and tenement voc Wisses Place in
occupacion of William Baxter and he to pay to Stephyn my son an annuitie.
Elisabett and Martha my daughters.
Witness John Carstocke, John Lawrence, John Spencer.
A Codicil 1 December 1596.
To Walter my son my land in Stone in Tanner Strete he to
give my son George £20 when 21.
To my brother Edward Fagge my messuage lately of Christofer
Finche in Linsteed.
