In the ? of ?? the xxv? day of August anno domini 1589. I Jane Eaton widowe executrix of the late will and testament of William EATON my late husband, sicke in bodye but of good and perfect remembrance, thanks be given to God, do ordayne and make this my last will and testament in mannewr and forme following: Fyrste I do bequeath my soul to almighty God my maker saviour and redeemer by whom and through whom I hope to have true remission of all my synnes. My bodye to be buryde in the churchyard of Saint James at Dovor at the appointment of my executors.Item: I will that my executor shall distribute to the pore of the parish upon the day of my buryall the some of fortye shillings.
   Item: I will and bequeathe the one half of all those goods moveable and removeable which I have and holde joyntlye with my children according to the bequeathe of the said William EATON my late husbande and whereof I am now possessed until all my children as well marryed as unmarried. And my will is to the ?ende my children under age may be the better answered their severall portions of the said moveable goods that the same partly after my death be solde according to the true value thereof by my executor so nere as he may. And upon the sale the money thereof coming for the ? or porcons of John, Peter and Nicholas my sonnes nowe under age shall rest and remayne in the hands of my said executor until they shall come to their several ages of one and twentye yeres, to be ymployed to their advantage and profite at which yeres the said porcons coming of these moveable goods together with the profite thereof shall be answered and payd unto them and every of them according to my bequeathe above said. And if the said John, Peter or Nicholas shall decease before they or eyther of them shall accomplishe their sayd generall ages of xxi yeres, then the ? and porcon of hym or them so deceasing shall remayne unto hym or them surviving. And if all the said three children shell dye before their said ages of xxi yeres then I will all their ? or portions shall remayne over unto my other children then lyving. And for as muche as then restethe at this instant sufficient goods in my handes for the answering, satisfying and dischargying of all the legacyes and bequeathes mentioned in the last will of my said late husband William EATON my will is that my executor as he will answere the contraye at the latter day do so the same discharged in every respecte as I have undertaken by the executor thereof to do. And the legacys and bequeathes given by the same will unto the said John, Peter and Nicolas my sonnes. I will my executor retayne in his own handes until they come to their ages ? by my sayd ? will for the receipts thereof.
   Item: I will and bequeathe that all and lal maner of sylver plate bolloye and jewelles which I now have and an possess of in my owne righte being the one half of all suche silver plate bolloye and jewelles as my late husband had at the tyme of his deathe, and unto me given as bequeathed by his said last will shall remayne unto all my sayd children equally between them to be divided and the partes and porcons thereof belonging unto John, Peter and Nicholas to remayne in the handes of my executor to be answered and payd over at their ages of xxi yeres and in such sorte as the money coming of their partes and porcons of my moveable goods before willed and bequeathed.
   Item: I will that all such mony and debts as I now have shall be in like forme equally devyded amongst all my said children and to then that they be collusion ? of any of my children defranded from them the partes or porcons thereof my will is that my executor do not intermeddle with the same nor with the opening any cheste casket or cubbard when the same or any parte thereof restethe, but with the oversighte of my overseer if he upon sufficient notice will come and take the oversite thereof, and that the aprtes and porcons of the sayd John, Peter and Nicholas shall be delyverd by my overseer to my said executor presently after my decease, which partes and portions shall remayne from either to other as their other partes and porcons do and shall be payd over with the ? and ymployed for them by my executor as their and the aprtes and porcons oughte and shall be by this my said last will.
   Provided allwayes and my further will and means is that my executor shall have out of all my sayd goods moveable and unmoveable silver plate jewels and mony the sume of twentie pounds ? for the which twentie pounds he shall educate and bring up Peter and Nicholas my sonnes to schole and kepe them both one year or more in Frannce for to learne the frenche tongue and after to put them to some science or occupacon as by my executor shall be thoughte meete. And that my sonne William EATON shall have my late husbands best gowne.
   And I do ordayne and make of this my last will ? my only executor Jacques HUGGENSON my sonne in lawe and ?? I appoynte Robert MARSHE of Dovor aforesaid yeoman.
   In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hande or seale. Date the day and yere abovesaid. Sealed and delivered in the presence of Robart MARSHE, Stephen MATTHEWE, John GOODWIN.
