Thomas Watts,
citizenne & Iremonger of London, 10 April 1548. To be buried where
it shall please God. To comen box of parish church of Saint Benedict
Gracechurche where I am parrishoner 40s. To poore people of the parish
of Benenden in Kent where I was borne 40s. To Richard Chapman myne
apprentice 20s & one hole yeres service. To John Carr apprentice wt
Richard Chamberlayne, citizenne & Iremonger of London £6.13.4. To
Margaret Norice & to the good wife Nychas my kepers 13s 4d.
To one mother Taper 6s 8d. To Julian Howforde my russet gowne. To my
brother William Wattes a doublett of blacke satten. To James Harvie my
best gowne of fyne pewke & faced wt grograyne. To John Smythe,
grocer, a doublet. To Agnes his wiffe 30s. To Johane Leede my mother
everye yere 20s.
To Elizabeth my wiffe three remnauntes of Hollonde cloth of 21 English
ells and £150. To every of the childrene of my bretherne & systerne
12d.
To William Wattes my brother of Benenden my tenement called Leasden wt
three score acres of lande in the parish of Benenden upon the den of
Leaseden. To my syster Avys, wife of William Wattes of Sanderst in Kent
£40. To Richard Leycrofte citizen & Armorer of London 40s. Residue
to William Wattes my brother of Benenden and he to be executor &
Richard Ivatt, grocer, overseer. Witness: Richard Ivatt, Wm Wattes of
Sandherst & John Smythe. To Agnes Wollstone wiffe of John Wulstone
citizenne & Bowcher of London 40s. To my sister Thomasyn wif of
Robert Water £40.
