Richard MORLEYN - Will 28 September 1539

Richard Morleyn of Benynden, yoman, 28 Sept. 1533. To be buried in the churchyerd of Sainte George the martir of Benynden. To eche of my godchildren that berere my name 4d. To my wife my stuffe of householde. To Richard & Gerveys my sonnes the halfendeale of all my brasse & peaweter, spitts aundiornes & trevetts. To Jane Awsten to her mariage 40s.
Last will: To Eleanore my wife my chamber that I now lye in for one yere if she abide a widowe, and fyre and fleete in my haule & kechin and her easement to goo & to com to the same & to fetche water, washe and wringe & to hange hir cloathes at all tymes convenient & necessary.
My feoffees to deliver a state to Walter my sonne of my messuage & a gardene called thupper house sometyme William Morleynn and 7 peaces of land wt a Corne mille theruppon buylded wherof the first peace is called the Rydett the second the Hell the third Uppestlande the 4th Netherestland, the 5th Nether Woodhell, the 6th Nethermeede & the 7th Uppermeede, contaning 30 acres and two peeces called Middell Marling & the Yonder Marling of 12 acres. Also more 7 peaces and a gardene wherof the first etc is called Netherhorfeelde, Upperehorfeld, Longefelld, Purtake, Weryfelde, le vi acres of Wolfeham containing 40 acres, also my wood called Brosindens wood in the parish of Bidendon uppon the denne of Brosinden containing 10 acres of woodland.
Also to Richard & Gerves my sonnes when the yongest cometh to their age of 22, egally betwixt them my principal mesauge & garden and two peaces of lande called Postenfeelde, Beeremeed & the crofte and also four peaces of land and an Aple Mylle theruppon standing at thother side of the streete wherof the first is called the Hothe, the 2nd the Wood above the Hoth & the 3d the Hether Marling & the 4th thupper Marling, containing 20 acres & also 9 peaces called Nether Everyndensfeelde, Everyndensfeeld, a Shaw to him belonging about the house, Colfelde, Everyndens Gardeine, Trowhams, the Hell wt a marle pytt & the two Swaices, conteyning 40 acres.
If they die then my feoffees shall deliver unto the sonnes off Phillipp Morleyn my sonne egally betwixt them my parte of my mesuage called Hothes & also a peace of lande called Longe Hooke lying uppon the denne of Mapisden. The profuts of my howsing & tenement in Caunterburie to be to thuse of Walter, Richard & Gerves my sonnes until the yongest cometh to 22.
Walter my sonne to have the tenements before assigned to Richard & Gerves unto the tyme they come to lawful age. Also to Walter, Richard & Gervise my sonnes a certaine land called a Home Lane at Bektilte egally betwixt them. Also my right & title of my landes & woode called Litle Dolkynden to thuse of the sonnes of Philip my son. My feoffees to deliver to Walter my sonne my lands & tenements at Kencheham in Rolynden and to Richard & Gerves my sonnes twoo peaces of lande in Rolvynden I bought of the wedowe of Symon Day, when they come to 22. Witnes: Edwarde Leede, Robert Everynden and other.

and at fol. 33, Sentence between Walter Morleyn, executor and Eleanor Morleyn relict, in favour of the will.
